Hey! I discovered this site when I was seeking out as many Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children images I could find. That movie is an inspiration, and when I came across a few deviant members who shared similar interest for that particular subject, it pulled me in. Plus, I wanted a good opportunity to express my artwork as well. I am an Artist...self expression is my thing. Whether it's through painting, sculpture, or just simly drawing...I can relate to it quite well. Anyway, back on topic. Along with my art, there's a little bit of a story behind each of them as well, literally. I'm in the process of writing my third book, and this one pertains to charatcers similar to Final Fantasy characters. Come to think of it, Advent
Children is what inspired me to write this one. After seeing that movie, many thoughts and images were flying through my mind like crazy. Thoughts like, "What if Final Fantasy were to be brought to life? something you could see?....feel? This book kind of starts out with me, as myself, after the completion of Art school and there's this specific company I want to work for
in Japan. The boss there gives me a hard time because I'm American, so the standards are dramatically raised. After many attempts to prove to him that I am worthy of working for his company, I finally put my foot down and say something like, "I want to show you one last thing before you turn me away. If it doesn't appeal to you...you'll never see my face in this building again." He gives me that opportunity, and I show the entire company this computer animated video I created,
consisting of detailed dragons, and mystical things. Put it this way, It's pretty much a remake of The Neverending Story, only better. Anyway, after the movie, the don't say anything, so I walk out of the room, not
knowing that the owner of the company, who was watching as well, demand was demanding that they get me back into that room...Needless to say, I got the job, they give me my own module...which is pretty much an entire house of technology for me to use. Then later, I end up creating this mechanism that is somewhat similar to the glass tank that Jenova was in in Final
Fantasy. It had lasers along the sides. That tank is filled with a fluid that has the power to convert homographic images to solid
ones. I end up creating this world personal database similar to the Final Fantasy games where you get to make creatures and people similar to The Sims. They have their own minds and potential to be anything with
any opportunity thrown at them. I later discover that there is a way to get the creature/people information to be transfered through the lasers on the tank. I could actually create life froma computer. Now at first, I was under the impression that if I were to attempt such a procedure, it would be completely ludicris. Soon the the idea began to weigh on my thoughts. Soon it becomes unbearble and I decide to try it out. I decided to have my first creature to be the dragon from my Neverending Story movie. I did everything I could to perfect it so there wouldn't be any bias. Then I performed the first transfer. It was a complete failure, I tweeked somethings here and there with no further luck. After about three days, I gave it one final attempt. But it still didn't work. The next day, I returned to work like normal, then I noticed that some things were different. The fluid level in the tank was lowered a greta deal and the lid was removed, and things were mysteriously
misplaced. As I began to search for the missing items, I walked into the living room to a shocking surprise. there was a 9 foot dragon congregating in my living room. At this point, I'm at a loss of words. As soon as I recollect myself, I began to speak to it, and it would speak back. It's intelligence was beyond what I expected, and it's sentence structure and vocabulary was amazing. Soon we became close friends. As soon as my confidence found me, I finally got close enough to reach out and touch
him. The rough, yet smooth texture of it's skin...was real...it was really there. A year or two passes without the company discovering what I've created. At that time, I'm in the process of creating a character similar to a Final Fantasy character and the world they're from. The character was resembled Kadaj greatly, white hair and all. I repeated the same procedure that was done to create the dragon. the first attempt to transfer him was a failure, the second: a failure. After the third time of failing, I lost all hope and gave up. I left for home a few days, leaving my dragon behind. When I returned, I explained to the dragon that it was probably a good thing that the tranfer didn't pull through. I finally had the time to reflect on the thoughts and what I had done. I confessed that I didn't really think things through thoroughly, I didn't consider the effects it would have on him or myself.
throughout this entire conversation, he almost had a look of regret on his face. I automatically thought that he was just depressed because he missed his world and that his existence was a mistake. I asked him what was wrong to be sure, all he said was, "...You seemed desperate" I didn't understand. The dragon turned his head and looked at something behind him. I looked to see what he was looking at and saw nothing...that is until a creature slowly walked out of the darkness from behind
him...then it all made sense...There was actually two computer generated creatures co-existing together...a dragon...and a man. This was no ordinary man...it WAS Kadaj. attitude and all. The effects of my mistake hit me hard that instant. The possiblities of him harming something was great, what he was capable of was beyond my knowledge.
Could the creation of this man possibly be the demise of the earth?
(deep breath) Well, there's a somewhat brief overview of what I've been
thinking about.
